Pony Camp at Parky's Farm

C and her friend Gwyn did Pony Camp for a few days this week! They had a lot of fun learning about grooming horses, including helping to scoop their POOP. (Yes, the girls were quick to share that) I am so proud of C and G for taking part in Pony Camp. And what a great experience for them in so many ways. One of the mornings we took the younger (twin) siblings to hang out at the Farm for our own learning experience while the "big girls" were in camp. Parky's is such a terrific place--animals, vegetable gardens, playground, pony camp and more. The volunteers are amazing there, too. We don't go there enough!

E & S Debut at Dance Camp

Flowers

C and I went for her first ever pedicure recently. I had a gift certificate and we needed some time away together. It was the perfect date! And C even got some flowers (look closely) to add a little fancy to her toes. Now we are beach ready!

Movie Morning

I took these four to the Mariemont Theater for a free movie: Charlotte's Web. I was expecting the classic but instead it was the recent version--still great, but minus the animation. We all loved the familiar story and had a good time. (Get there early if you go! It's a small theater and fills up quickly)

Perfect Night

Brett and I got a rare night out and opted to head back to our old neighborhood for dinner at Cumin, my new favorite go-to (the coconut crepes: De.Lish. As is everything else)! Then we walked along the river and through Smale Park just south of the Banks. It was a perfect night! We even ran into my cousin which was a great surprise.

Dance Camp

Here they were, ready for day 2 at Dance Camp. Ellen (far left) and Sophie (2nd from right) have watched Corinne go off to dance class all year and FINALLY they are now old enough. Sigh. We took C's friend, Gwyn, with us (also pictured here). It was one excited car of dancers!

Father's Day

We had a low key Father's Day. The girls sure do love Brett. What a great Daddy!

The Grandparent Phenomenon

Why is it that grandparents go by different rules when taking care of and tending to their grandchildren as opposed to when they raised their own? I am encountering this and I have concluded that they must think it is their right. A certain Mimi recently ran an errand for me and in doing so she also bought the girls those crazy grocery store cupcakes, you know the ones. They literally have a mile of icing on top. This drives me crazy. I don't deprive my kids of desserts--if you know me then you know I have a sweet tooth that won't quit. But really, must the grandparents (read: Mimi) choose the most unhealthy and outrageous dessert options for no apparent reason?! Come on. (Note: This post was written in fun...kinda) Ellen in the middle, Sophie on right.

C's Last Day

We did a few impromptu pictures in the hallway after school got out on the last day. In the top picture C is with her best buds: Franny, Emory and Anna...plus the little sisters! Corinne's class had 10 boys and just five girls. C's teacher kept telling us how sweet this group of girls was all year. The word was that they were "the sweetest little unit they'd had in many years...just as delightful as they come." As a parent that is the most wonderful situation: to have your child find a few close friends that are kind, love to do most everything together, and look out for each other all the time. What a great year it was! Not for one second have I regretted keeping C there and making the long drive to and from school after we moved. It was worth it, 100%.

C's class picnic

The end of the pre-school year was lots of fun for Corinne. One morning her class met at a really cool park for their class picnic...and one of the moms brought cans of silly string for everyone. Corinne and some of the other girls in the class had NO idea what to do with that...but they figured it out eventually as the boys were covering them in silly string and taking advantage of their naivety. It was a hot, fun morning!
