Mission Accomplished

Well, we had a successful Sunday! Today was Corinne's first trip to church and she was awesome! We made it to church on time and Corinne slept through the service:) She stirred a bit-- but the worship and the sermon seemed to put her right back to sleep! We also ran into some friends we hadn't seen in a while and experienced some 'parental pride' as we showed her off to both strangers and friends.

After church we spent the afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa Schatz's house! Corinne enjoyed her first trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house where she even has her very own Pack'n Play waiting for her. (Brett and I snuck in a nap while there, which was also a plus.)

4 Weeks Old Today

Today Corinne is 4 weeks old! On one hand, it's hard to believe she has already been with us that long--but on another hand it has been a long 4 weeks with ups and downs and little sleep! Yet one thing is for sure, we love Corinne very much and are so thankful she is in our lives. Here is a recent picture of her after we returned from a few errands--just she and I.

Other updates: today we had a new furnace put in since we were told our old furnace was going to go soon. Rather than take a chance with no heat and a precious little baby at home, we opted to be proactive...which meant Corinne's first trip to Grammy's house. We had a nice day and returned to a cozy warm house with a MUCH more efficient furnace. But, I didn't realize how much stuff Corinne needs for a day away from home!!

Things we've learned over the last 4 weeks:
-it is good to have lots of diapers at the ready...Corinne goes through them like it's her job (oh wait, it is one of her jobs!)
-the baby bjorn can be a life saver when one is home with Corinne and there are a million things to get done around the house, not to mention eating lunch
-the pacifier is our friend
-take help from family members when you can get it!
-it is very important to get a good burp
-reading all the right books about babies will not necessarily tell you all you need to know
-sleep is overrated...well, not really, but it's what we tell ourselves when we don't get much!

My Favorite!

Even though I've been dealing with a painful infection called mastitis, when Corinne snuggles up to me and falls asleep it's the best feeling ever! I love it! (Plus it means that I can sneak in a nap, too!)

Sharing Space

Lilly has staked her claim to Corinne's play gym. She spends ample time each day taking a nap on it, and on this rare occasion both Corinne and Lilly were sharing the space. But we'll give Lilly the benefit of the doubt and assume she is just "stretching" and not trying to push Corinne away:)

Do you notice a pattern in these pictures? Corinne loves to have her arms up and free any chance she gets!! (This makes it tough to do a really good "swaddle")

The Schatzes

Yesterday Brett and I took Corinne for a walk in the neighborhod since the sun was shining and it wasn't too cold, but today we went to the Sports Club for a little indoor workout! Brett ran on the track and I wore Corinne in the Baby Bjorn as we walked around the track. Corinne was fast asleep the whole time, but mommy and daddy thought this was a huge accomplishment!! It felt good to be out! What great family time:)

Visitors!

Last night my girlfriends stopped over to meet Corinne and my dear friend, Susan, took these wonderful pictures for us! Our visitors were a nice distraction from Corinne's regular evening "fussy time". She enjoyed meeting all my friends and was a great host--staying quiet for most of the time! I love you, Corinne!
