Corinne-isms

I've been making a list of Corinne-isms just for the occasion of her 19 month post. I know every kid has their own cute quirks and unique personality traits, but I thought I would share some of Corinne's...because in our opinion she is just the sweetest little thing. We love her to death!

1. Corinne's standard answer when we ask her something is "uh-huh".
2. When we are in the car and we pass a park, Corinne yells "Yay, slide" and claps her hands
3. When I put Corinne to bed at night I pray with her over my shoulder (after books) and then I end by telling her, "Mommy loves you, Daddy loves you and Jesus loves you." So I regularly ask her during the day, "Who loves you, Corinne?" She always answers with "Mi-Mi". I ask who else and she says, "Pop-Pop". When I ask her who else she starts all over with "Mi-Mi". Hmm. I guess she's not catching on to my night time whispers of mommy, daddy and Jesus.
4. If I tell Corinne that we're going to the zoo she'll respond with "peacock, baaaa, moo, and choo-choo".
5. Corinne counts "one, two, two, two"
6. At dinnertime when we're sitting down at the table, Corinne immediately folds her hands to pray and says, "pray".
7. If Corinne is hungry she'll ever so sweetly whisper "coo-koo" (cookie) and/or "crack-crack" (cracker), while pointing toward the kitchen with a sheepish look.
8. Little C wants SO badly to be able to truly hop. She does her best version of it all the time while saying "hop".
9. When Corinne knows she's supposed to be following a direction (but isn't quite ready to) and I'm looking at her waiting for her obedience, she'll shout out, "Hi!" in the cutest little voice. As if that will distract me:)

Perhaps this picture is foreboding? After we return from Hilton Head I'm going to purchase (gasp) a potty for Corinne! (gasp) She certainly does know what it is, what belongs in it, who uses it, and even sometimes informs us that she might be doing some of those things in her diaper! So, wish us luck on the journey of potty training. Here she is hugging the potty!

Music

Corinne loves listening to my iPod using the headphones. She sways and dances and nods her head to the music.

Bike Ride to the Playground

We love living right around the corner from Kilgour School for many reasons, one of the biggest being that we can use their playground all summer! Recently Corinne rode (and walked) there. She loves her new bike!

Big Girl...Big Expressions

Corinne has gotten quite good at using her spoon to eat her own bowl of cereal in the morning--even with Lilly distracting her (3rd picture). As you can see, she's also gotten quite good at making several interesting expressions when I try to take her picture! Silly girl.

Captivated

When Corinne was feeling so miserable last weekend, we opted for a little TV--something she never ever gets to do! Our entertainment choice was our wedding video, made by my very talented friend, Susan. Brett and I haven't pulled it out in ages, and this was Corinne's very first viewing. She LOVED it, and pointed out all the people she knows. Little C also loved the music selection, dancing to the music and saying "again" after it was over. Needless to say, we watched it many times!

Of Late

Corinne has been feeling down and out lately. She's run the gamut from fevers to watery eyes, runny nose to cough. The origin? One nasty word: MOLARS. It all started more than a week ago, and each day has been slightly different, variations of better and worse with no real predictability. We've tried to keep busy on the days she has felt better. Visits to several parks, time with grandparents, and errands to the store. But we've also missed out on a few things in the process, for fear of spreading the germs that might now be present as an offshoot of the original runny nose due to the teeth. Oh well. It's one of those things to just wait out. At least the slide is always a welcome way to pass the time. This one is from Brett's mom, who found it at a garage sale and cleaned it up for us. It is currently being housed in our sun room for Corinne's sliding pleasure, indoors or out.
