Surprisingly, Ellen was not into the cupcakes or the birthday cake--which was one layer white and one layer chocolate (my way of representing both girls in one cake). We offered her chocolate first but she wouldn't eat it so we swapped with Sophie who started with the white cake...still not interested. Ellen wasn't having any of it. She even got a bit upset about the whole thing! Perhaps she did not inherit my sweet tooth? Hard to believe, but not outside the realm of possibility.

From the looks of birthday #1, Ellen may have avoided the sweet tooth ... we shall see! But she certainly had a great time and was an adorable birthday girl.
I wonder if that will last... Maybe she was hoping Mimi would make a pie for her.
That is OK, Ellen. We will give you plenty of opportunities this summer to develope a taste for sweets!
