yucky
It's been a week of sick around here. You know that's the case when Ellen and Sophie wake up triumphantly announcing, "No yucky!" from their bed. Because there were some days when the "yucky" was all over their:bed, hair, pajamas, dolls, blankets, and yes...even all over their mom, dad and big sister. Thankfully we are through the worst, though the stomach bug seems to also hand out a little lingering "yucky" after the vomiting sort is done. But I'm declaring us all well tomorrow no matter what. So there.

Celebrity
Is a UC Bearcats cheerleader a celebrity? Personally, I'm not sure that qualifies. But to C and her cousin I think it does. The best part about it: "We each got to hold a pom-pom, Mom!" The girls had a ball and Brett also said that Corinne danced the entire game.

Giddy Up
C went to a birthday party recently where she got to take her first pony ride. Yes, you read that correctly. Her friends from school had (two) ponies for the kids to ride at the party. I wasn't sure if C would actually try it, but she did. And she loved it! Her pony, Mickey, was the perfect one for a first time. A memory she will remember for a long time, I'm sure.

Gem
To my utter amazement when I asked the girls if I could take their picture together they actually pleasantly agreed. That must be a first. The beginning of a new stage. I remember when Corinne started letting me take her picture and actually holding still/smiling for the camera. It was about the time E & S came along...and so all attempts unraveled all over again. But I think we might be back on track! (Sophie on left)
Monkey Bars
We recently attended Corinne's Open House at school and one of the tricks she was eager to show us was her mastery of the monkey bars in the "Big Room" (where indoor recess is held). Sheer joy!
Buddies
Coloring. Together. Ellen with the big smile. Lately Ellen and Sophie have taken over the study and living room (which currently just houses games and toys). They like to shut the doors and they pretend those two rooms are their "house". Ellen is the "mommy" and Sophie is either "Coco" (their name for Corinne) or "baby" and they play in their own little pretend world. Pretty amusing to watch.

Family Fun!
Last Sunday C came home from Sunday School and said, "Mom, everyone was talking about going to the Circus...can we do that?" I laughed, knowing exactly what the 5 year olds were talking about that morning in Sunday School. Our church was holding their annual Family Fun Night and the theme this year was "Circus Night". I assured C that we were already planning to go and explained to her the circus theme. She was cool with that and all week we looked forward to it. Our family met friends beforehand for a quick dinner and then we went to church for face painting, stilts walkers, balloon makers, an aerial acrobatics show from the Cincinnati Circus Company, zoo animals and (C's favorite) bouncehouses! It was a lot of fun on a very cold night. And for the record Ellen got her face painted also but did not want to be in the picture with C and her friend Gwyn.
Lobsters
The other morning while C was at school we deviated from our usual routine of hanging out at the library and instead did an errand or two and took a quick trip to the grocery store. E & S were captivated by the lobsters! They didn't want to keep shopping. We had to stay and watch them for quite a while and I only got them away by telling them that maybe we could stop back to check on them before we left. Thankfully they forgot about that and we did not make a return visit. (Sophie further away, Ellen is closest)
