Ellen and Sophie had their fair share of excitement on vacation...besides just experiencing the beach for the first time. We took Ellen to an Urgent Care off the island (and way too far away) just a few days into vacation. It turned out she had an ear infection. Just when we felt like she was feeling better, she came down with a rash. Allergic reaction to the meds? Not sure at the time-- so it was back to the doc. They changed her meds and all seemed to be on the up and up. But on our drive home (several days later!) Sophie came down with the same rash. After seeing our doctor here, it was a confirmed ear infection for her, too. (The virus that causes the ear infection can, in summer months, cause a rash and be sun sensitive.) Lesson learned: find out where the closest pediatrician/urgent care/medical facility is before your need it!

I loved spending so much quality time with Sophie and Ellen. They are growing so fast, talking all the time, and just get cuter every day.
Bummer about the ear infections, rash and trips to the doctor. But the rest of us had a nice evening while you took Ellen to the doctor. We liked babysitting.
